The main objective of this axis is to enhance the quality of Professional Training, in order to provide a form of education suited to the requirements of the job market. Back-up will also be provided for programmes to prevent children leaving school with no qualifications – this means assistance with “Social Guarantee” programmes, which provide training diplomas for those who hold no basic school qualifications.

Action taken: Improving Professional Training systems

This involves two types of activity, as follows:

• professional training in relation to new information and communications technology by teachers at post-compulsory secondary schools, as part of a general training programme drawn up for this purpose;
• international mobility from the point of view of both universities and professional training.

Measure 2: Providing education alternatives geared towards the job market for those with no qualifications above basic schooling.
