Structural Funds Nº 2
Objective: Reactivating areas with structural difficulties.
The Structural Funds Nº 2 Objective is to revitalise
areas with structural difficulties in relation to industrial,
rural or urban matters, or areas dependent on the fishing
sector. These areas are part of regions whose level of
development, although on a par with the Community average,
suffer from a number of social and economic difficulties
at local level which frequently result in high levels of
unemployment. These difficulties are:
- Changes in the industrial and services sectors;
- A decline in traditional activities in rural areas;
- A crisis situation in cities;
- Difficulties in connection with the fishing sector.
The European Commission contributed 587.6
million euros out of a total budget of 1,316.2 million
euros to the financing of the Basque Country Objective
Nº 2 for the period 2000-2006.
This programme is divided into 6 axes and 28 measures.
The following is a presentation of the axes and measures
which benefit Gipuzkoa, as well as any projects which are
still ongoing. |
