This action axis contemplates investments in infrastructures and services that contribute to revitalising zones that are especially affected by the industrial decline through reorienting their activities towards other sectors like tourism, the creation of social, cultural infrastructures that foster social equality for specific collectives like women, youth, marginal groups, etc, the construction and outfitting of professional training centres and centres for promoting employment or support for cross-border co-operation projects.
 
 
 
Many are the actions that have been developed around this axis and that have received through the ERDF and the Interreg community initiative 1,683 million pesetas of community funds. Among the actions assigned to this axis, are, for example, the aid for constructing the Kursaal Centre in San Sebastian, the launching of different cross-border co-operation projects or the fostering of new employment sources.
