RESIDER COMMUNITY INITIATIVE

The objective of this community initiative is to accelerate the eco-nomic and social re-conversion of the iron and steel industry basins concentrating on those that are most affected by industrial restructuring problems. Priority is given to improving the environment, to promoting new economic activities and to perfecting human resources.
 
 
INTERREG INITIATIVE

This community initiative aims to foment the development of the internal and external border zones of the EU and create co-operation networks among internal borders as well as take advantage of new opportunities for co-operating with third countries in EU exterior borders zones.
 
 
HORIZON-EMPLOYMENT INITIATIVE
The objective of this community initiative is to contribute to the development of human resources and to the improvement of the functioning of the labour market in order to drive the growth of employment and foster social solidarity. Concretely it aims to improve the possibilities of employment for disabled persons..
 
 
NOW- EMPLOYMENT INITIATIVE
The objective of this community initiative is to reduce unemployment among women and improve the situation of those that are active by promoting equal opportunities of employment. Support the development of innovative strategies in order to respond to changes in the organisation of work and new professional demands.
 
 
ADAPT

The objective of this community initiative is to accelerate the adaptation of the workers to industrial transformations, increase the competitiveness of industry, services and commerce, avoid unemployment by developing the workers as well as foreseeing and accelerating the creation of new jobs and activities including the use of SMEs.The ADAPT BIS call is to favour the transition to the information society and minimise the effects of social exclusion that this may entail through measures that promote a high level of knowledge about these issues, the identification and transfer of best practices in applying technology besides experimentation and dissemination of experience throughout Europe.
