During
Spain's first three years in the EEC and up until the new norms
for the Structural Funds came into effect in 1989, the CRP was identified
with the ERDF interventions. Spain participated in the ERDF interventions
since 1 January 1986 and later in ESF aid. In 1988, the first great
reform of the Structural Funds is effected and the concept of 'economic
and social cohesion' is incorporated for fear of maintaining the
regional disparities during the process of constructing Europe.
